Gun Fired in DC Hospital Waiting Room

A patient shot a gun in the MedStar Washington Hospital Center waiting room Friday evening, according to a statement by hospital officials. Hospital security were able to control the situation and contact police. The shooter was taken into custody by police and the weapon was recovered, officials said. There were no injuries.

DC Postal Employee Tests Positive for COVID-19

A postal worker at the Brentwood Post Office in Northeast D.C. tested positive for COVID-19 Friday, according to the US Postal Service.  However, the threat to other postal workers at the facility remains low, the postal service said. Of the more than 630,000 postal workers nationwide, 111 have tested positive for the virus, USPS said.
